- Author's intro is practical, non-judgmental, and insightful; explains her diet choices and why they work for her (she's 70% vegan, 60% raw)
- Loads of muesli/cereals to choose from
- Smoothies with nut milks & soaked, dried fruit
- Recipes for nut milk! — most expensive thing to buy
- Dehydrated vegetable snacks and dips seem easy to put together, but time-saps
- Chapter of soups look quick/easy/seasonal/yum
- Short recipes with times included (some need overnight to soak dried things or set up for texture) and easy-to-find ingredients
- Some of the cookies and bars seem sticky. Not sure they will taste good, but they look easy to put together
- Good amount of full-color, food photographs, though it doesn't look like many actual recipe photos exist; just random fruit & veg bits like the cover artwork – maybe just because this is the review book? or else because lots of this stuff will turn out shades of unappetizing brown?
- Smart writing and solid reasoning behind it, plus personal stories and notes about whether kids tend to like/dislike particular recipes
